The Swami Lakshmanjoo Commentary on Abhinavagupta’s Paramarthasara / The Essence
of the Highest Reality)
Video recorded revelations given by Swami Lakshmanjoo from the oral tradition of
Kashmir Shaivism of the Abhinavagupta's Paramarthasara (Essence of the Highest
Reality).
I had read Abhinavagupta’s Paramarthasara (B.N. Pandit) many times and was always enriched by its brilliance. In my estimation, the Paramarthasara is right up there with the Bhagavad Gita and Lao Tzu.
However, the Paramarthasara revealed by Swami Lakshmanjoo is on quite another
level. Only an authentic enlightened master is the experiential highest
consciousness - and thus is able to convey the real essence, the truth of the
meaning.
This is the point where words do not, and simply will not communicate what
happens. I had always heard this tale about the guru being able to impart wisdom
to the student by the mere sound of his words, by a kind of psychic osmosis —
however I had never experienced it for myself.
Now — through the power of these DVDs — I was! After I had already begun to feel
this beyond-words-experience, I saw that one of Swami Lakshmanjoo’s disciples
had asked him how he would initiate those who came after he left his body. He
replied – “Through this!” and pointed to the lens of the camera.
Swami Lakshmanjoo has a profoundly fresh interpretation of both Abhinavagupta’s
Paramarthasara - and the version of Bhagavad Gita with Abhinavagupta’s
commentary - and that will knock your socks off! I often find myself giggling
with his contagious joy.
The words Swami Lakshmanjoo speaks come from the place he dwells in. His words
convey the fact that he is the Oneness
(the Kashmir Shaivite term is Para Bhairava) at the time he utters the
words. The sounds themselves carry the frequencies of the power and truth from
his individual enlightenment. He is speaking within and from That.
Even though Swami Lakshmanjoo has left his body (1991), his words as sound
remain held, ‘embedded’ in these recordings. The sound itself contains the power
to change your consciousness — if you are ready to hear. As he says … “Thank
you!”
He appears as a simple, unassuming, dear old man. No beard, no long hair, no
golden throne, no jive — just a good feeling of an incredible intelligence,
kindness, and a great Being immersed in Delight.
I highly recommend that you get the DVD/book set of the Paramarthasara. You’ll
know if this is for you. If it resonates with your being, the wisdom flowing
from his “nectar lips” has the power to transform your consciousness.
